- Develop proactive strategies for preventing disputes by ensuring contracts are well-drafted, aligned with compliance standards, and operationally efficient.
- Provide insights and recommendations on commercial transactions and contractual obligations to internal stakeholders.
- Administer controls and policies to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and effectively integrate ethics, compliance and preventive law efforts, ensuring MTNN activities are compliant with laid down laws and governing regulations/statutes.
- Prepare weekly and monthly management reports.
- Update automated systems for data/legal process maturity for all areas of commercial legal practice (Intellectual Property, Real Estate, Contracts, litigation).
- Conduct due diligence on companies
- Drafting letters to third parties on behalf of the company
- Manage the Company’s property portfolio
- Negotiate and draft transaction agreements (i.e. M&As, JVs, to support the business on company or group projects.
Education:
- LLB and BL
- Fluent in English
Experience:
3-7 years’ experience in an area of specialization; with experience in supervising others which includes:
- Experience working in a medium organization
- Civil/commercial litigation experience. At least 2 (two) straight years of law practice in a reputable law firm.
- Knowledge of telecommunications will be an advantage.
- Commercial/technical and/or further legal qualification will be an advantage
- Experience in negotiating, drafting and management of contracts and transactions
- In depth experience and understanding of the Nigerian legal framework
- Experience in property portfolio management
