Job Summary

The Head of Acquisition, Priority Banking is responsible for driving profitable business growth through new client acquisition while maximizing engagement with both new and existing customers. The primary focus is on the Priority and Premium banking segment, ensuring a seamless onboarding process and delivering tailored product and service solutions across Standard Chartered’s full range of Retail Banking products.

Key Responsibilities

New Client Acquisition & Onboarding:

  • Acquire and onboard New-to-Bank (NTB) and New-to-Segment (NTS) clients with multiple financial needs (Wealth Management, Mortgages, Overdrafts, etc.).

  • Engage NTB and NTS clients through lead sources such as agencies, alliances, and supplier-buyer ecosystems.

  • Ensure customer applications meet regulatory standards, addressing any anomalies before submission.

Strategy & Business Growth:

  • Deliver a customer-centric approach, ensuring an exceptional banking experience.

  • Offer a diverse product portfolio tailored to meet clients’ financial needs.

  • Maintain compliance with banking regulations while delivering high-value client services.

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to anti-money laundering (AML) policies by verifying customer identities, maintaining records, and reporting suspicious activities.

  • Promote Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance and ensure all transactions align with the bank’s policies.

  • Monitor branch operations, vault cash limits, and compliance registers to mitigate risks.

  • Ensure adherence to Standard Chartered’s governance framework and regulatory expectations.

Governance & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Uphold the highest ethical standards by embedding Standard Chartered’s Values and Code of Conduct into daily operations.

  • Take ownership of regulatory and business conduct compliance in collaboration with the CBN and other regulatory bodies.

  • Actively engage in risk assessment, governance processes, and compliance oversight.

Key Stakeholders:

  • Internal: Relationship Managers, Branches, Credit, Wealth Management, Internal Audit, Corporate & Investment Banking, and Business Operations.

  • External: Clients and Financial Regulators.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) or Master’s Degree in a relevant field.

  • Experience: 18-20 years of proven sales and leadership experience in retail banking.
